    R-tech DVR's are not designed to recognize anything over a 2 GB USB memory stick. 1 GB roughly equals 24 min, giving you under an hour of backup time on a 2 GB drive. If wanting to perform a more extensive backup it has to be accomplished via the network. You can set up the R-Tech DVR for local network access relatively hassle free using the included software.
